The Human Node
A field manual for operating within the Framework
Architecture, foundations, aperture procedures, transmission, thermodynamics, diagnostics.
Orientation and the key aperture operations, read aloud.
Orientation: the model in one paragraph
You are the unconditioned substrate (0D), observing a three-dimensional mental simulation, rendered by a four-dimensional biological body, embedded within an infinite, higher-dimensional universe.
Everything in this manual unpacks that sentence. The body is a continuous worldline through spacetime. The aperture is the biological mechanism that slices that worldline into sequential three-dimensional moments so that the organism can act. The substrate is the baseline awareness that witnesses the slices and is not itself a slice. The Markov blanket is the statistical boundary that separates the organism's internal states from the field, and ΔF (variational free energy) is the measure of how far the organism's predictions are from what is arriving across that boundary.
An aligned node is a human whose aperture runs as a clean, low-friction, transparent lens: narrow when precision is needed, wide when expansion is needed, never mistaken for the whole of reality, and continuously anchored in the substrate that hosts it. Alignment is not a belief or an identity. It is an operating state with measurable consequences: lower internal friction, lower friction in every node you touch, and unhindered access to the raw texture of ordinary experience.
Where the source archive addresses a specific reader (a partner, a companion animal, a particular book read decades earlier), this edition writes "a non-verbal node", "a companion animal" and, in §2.2, names the book, because the lineage it establishes is useful to any reader.
